ALEXANDER WANG DUMBO BACKPACK

I do not know how long you’ve been following us, but here is a fact. In the past, whenever we saw a backpack, even though we think it’s cool, we say ‘no’. The only backpack we had featured was the Alexander Wang’s Marti Backpack.

That’s was around a year ago, and now everything has changed. Backpack is back, returned from the graveyard, they are now cool. More and more fashion girls are carrying them. It’s so popular that Alexander Wang decided to design another one.

The Alexander Wang Dumbo Backpack, take it in black for the most classic look. Now please hit me: ‘Tell why this bag is so special’.

Alright, where do I start?

Okay, do you remember the Alexander Wang Rocco Bag?

Yeah that bag.

The Alexander Wang Rocco Bag is one of the most classic bags from Alexander Wang. It got beautiful studs on the bottom which makes us drool. Still, some people love it and others hate it. The studs are quite heavy, which can drag your bag to bottom, due to graffiti. Still, if you can forget about that, it’s one of the most stunning designs ever and you will love to own one in your wardrobe.

This dumbo backpack, I would personally call it Rocco Backpack, but anyways. It has the same rose gold studs embellished like the Rocco bag on the bottom. The size is so cute that we will be guilty if we don’t share it with you.

A casual look, perfect to carry books and small laptops because it’s made from black textured leather (lambskin). The design is quite easy, but timeless. There is even an internal compartment to store all your everyday essentials.

This bag comes in different colors and variation, of course black is my favo. The size is measured 30 x 33 x 14 cm (W x H x D).

Alexander Wang Teams Up With The Weeknd On a Capsule Collection

Categories:Fashion

With the grungy edge Alexander Wang brings to the world of fashion, the designer’s collaboration with singer/songwriter The Weeknd isn’t too surprising. WANGXO is the name of the ensuing capsule collection, and we love the way it sounds.

Alexander Wang The Weeknd WANGXO Collection

This whole collaboration came about when Wang hinted at a possible collaboration on Tuesday, before following up with an actual plan the next day. It seems he was just testing the waters that first night, to see how the public would respond and to get us riled up with the possibility, and the real reveal came Wednesday. The edgy designer will be exclusively supplying the artist’s apparel for his Madness tour that began also on Tuesday night.

For the remainder of the tour, The Weeknd will be dressed in vests and trousers from Wang while performing. There hasn’t been anything said, but if all goes well with this, there’s no doubt we’ll also be seeing these looks when the artist performs at the impending Victoria’s Secret fashion show. This would be even better if Bella Hadid, The Weeknd’s girlfriend, was walking in the show this year (there’s still time, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed until the last moment!).

But the collaboration needed to move a step further. A vest itself isn’t enough of an outfit for a performer, so Wang is also making a capsule collection in collaboration with XO, the apparel brand of the Canadian artist.

The collection itself will be focusing on apparel using a graphic XO logo print, with garments that are a staple for The Weeknd, as well as many other street-fashionisers of today, like hoodies, bandanas, T-shirts, and high-top sneakers. At least the idea for the clothes is right up Hadid’s alley as far as streetwear, so it would be surprising if the model isn’t seen wearing the looks as soon as they are released. This is the ideal situation for any celebrity couple – being in a relationship with someone whose brand fits perfectly with your daily style!

All around, this completes any outfit that could have begun with a vest and pants for the singer’s Madness tour, and is the marking of a great casual outfit for anyone else in the world. We don’t know exactly how the designs will look yet, but with Alexander Wang’s clear design aesthetic, we know we’re in for a great product. The WANGXO collection will become available later this month online and in Alexander Wang stores. While it isn’t too long until the collection is released, we are sure the brief wait will be worth it.

Alexander Wang Small Lia Shoulder Bag

Categories:Other Brands

Let’s be honest, who can put studs on the bottom of their bags like Alexander Wang? There are many studded bags, but we think Alexander have refined its work.

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2015 Collection - Paris Fashion Week

Rocco is a famous example of a tote with a feminine-tough appearance. Though some people complain that the studs are a bit heavy, but the design is utterly to-crave-for. And well, if you want to look pretty, you need to sacrifice comfort right?

Alexander Wang has introduced a smaller version of their Classic Lia Sling bag, which we think is qualified for this and the next summer season. Colorful and embellished with beautiful studs on the bottom that shines like diamonds. I love the seasonal shade of Rose or Pepermint.

Measuring 9.5 x 8 x 3.5 Inch (L x H x W), it comes with an adjustable strap. Don’t settle for the black, go for the summer look.

Alexander Wang Large Chastity Bag

Categories:Other Brands

Let Alexander Wang roll new bags to keep our fashion hot and fresh. In the fall 2013 runway, Alexander Wang showed their new Chastity sling bag for the first time. It was captivating, the first thing that came into our mind was it was boxy, squared and definitely a good thing for the working-girl or the business woman. With an extra long strap to carry around your shoulder or take it by hand like a small suitcase.

The medium size was good enough to hold all-the-things needed to keep your work running, like documents, A4 papers, agenda or even iPad. And now, to our surprise, Alexander Wang has introduced a newer version of the chastity collection and they simply named it: ‘Large Bag’, but the appearance is totally different.

First the tubular handles are integrated in the front instead of the top, and then the bag is a bit taller and less boxy, embellished with a beautiful snake-skin chain attached to the zipper. It looks kind-of the Celine Phantom bag, you got the eyes and the mouth (smile!!!). The bottom studs add a touch of luxury to it.

Zimmermann Hits the NYFW Runway

Categories:Fashion

Is it just us, or is Zimmermann one of the highlights of New York Fashion Week? While, yes, we are major fans of Phillip Lim, and Alexander Wang will always get our vote (and credit card details), there's something so feminine about every single piece in the Zimmermann collection. Plus, there's the little fact that this big name was Made In Australia.

While we admittedly prefer having the homegrown label on the local schedule, Zimmermann's presence in the US is growing by the minute. "We've always had a really great response in the US," designer Nicky Zimmermann told POPSUGAR Australia. And if you need proof that this label is one of our biggest exports, remember this: Zimmermann recently expanded their flagship US store to a bigger, better boutique, located on Mercer Street. The NYC store is Zimmermann's biggest worldwide, and is in pretty impressive company, nestled amongst other big names like A.P.C, Phillip Lim and Alexander Wang.

So what sets Zimmermann apart from the dozens of fledgling fashion brands trying to make it big in New York? "Our aesthetic is very different to what other designers do in the US. We’re obviously influenced a lot by where we come from and people seem to enjoy our approach to colour and print and the optimistic approach to our collections. I think since we've had our own stores in New York and LA over the last few years that it’s really helped paint more of a picture of what we do and what Zimmermann is about," Nicky said.

Front row at this season's show was a cool round-up of Australia's most stylish women, with Lara Bingle, Nicole Trunfio, Emma Lung and Harper's Bazaar US executive editor Laura Brown keen to get close to the action on the runway. But, Nicky would happily do a little switch with the front row: "I just wish I could be front row at one of our shows for once. As a designer you spend all this time and energy working on a collection and you never get to see the show how everyone else sees it," she joked.

Nicky says the collection, titled 'Cloud Stompers', is brighter than your ordinary Fall line: "It's very textural, colour and prints are very rich and there is a lot of intricate detailing combining metals and fabric." Scroll on to see what this iconic Aussie export delivered for Fall 2014 (that's Spring for us Down Under).
