3.1 Phillip Lim Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – New York Fashion Week

Categories:Fashion

Innovation seems to be the second name of New York Fashion Week this time! The absolutely stunning 3.1 Phillip Lim spring/summer 2015 collectionpresented is yet another proof for the fact that the human imagination and the potential, which holds all of the creativity and modern interpretations together, are, in fact, endless! So what we discover here can be called something bedazzlingly ultra-modern and experimental at the same time being quite beautiful and wearable! So you may have a look at the abstracted shapes coming for the range of the tops and capri combos, where the hems of the tops are designed with curvy and asymmetrical forms eventually forming some curious looks especially when having some floral plus brocade design patterns and coming matched with ankle strap high heeled sandals.

A calmer option in terms of the size of the curves comes right after with clearer identifiable design patterns created with golden tones on pure white background. Still, the innovative and experimental interpretations go on and we see some more curious duos like those made with tops and shorts and also those encompassing outerwear garments too. The range of dresses having both monochrome and minimalistic and more sophisticated deigns should also be noted here, followed with some combos involving sporty bandeaus of black shade.
Classy jackets also come to complete these looks further. The leather pieces also turn out to be a significant part of the whole 3.1 Phillip Lim spring/summer 2015 collection creating some interesting combos as well. In addition, after a range of black and white looks with sassy elements like V-curves, we see some sporty-inspired combos and pieces mainly coming as jackets and pants. Beadwork again arranged asymmetrically and luxurious textures and fabrics like velvet can’t be missed out of the range either.

Transparency plays catch our attention right after coming with delicate chiffon fabrics matched with the cute floral motives. The renovated and reinvented designs for such elements as peplums also find their place in the range of innovations. The next tool for creating the transparency plays is laser cut forming some awesome pieces with pants, tops, skirts, and many other apparel options.
The combos with leather and with the floral themes even reaching the extent of combining black leather with pinky details is what makes the 3.1 Phillip Lim spring/summer 2015 collection complete and thorough also providing you with the craziest ideas and combo possibilities that you can ever imagine!

3.1 Phillip Lim Wednesday Boston Bag: Natural Crack

Categories:Other Brands

3.1-Phillip-Lim-Wednesday-Medium-Boston-Satchel

I picture the spring fashion with flowers and more colors than the rainbow, but 3.1 Phillip Lim has other ideas. For the SS2013 Fashion week, the Boston satchel was shown in black and white speckle. Allow me to define it more specific, with natural cracked appearance unevenly distributed throughout the bag. Is it too much? I am speechless, but then again unusual designs are very inspirational and distinctive.

The first impression about the cracked leather might be: ‘Is it soft or hard?’. Well, even though the black cracks look more like dried-up paint, the material used is lambskin. Surprised? Knowing this, the new Boston bag actually looks quite good, doesn’t it?

Pre-Order 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Awesome Spring 2014 Accessories at Moda Operandi

Categories:Other Brands

3.1 Phillip Lim Wednesday Cracked Leather Boston Satchel

Fashion Week is fun and all, but it’s a different kind of fun to check out collections once they hit their first pre-orders at Moda Operandi, usually mere days or weeks after first debuting on the runway. It allows us to find out design names and prices of our favorite bags, like these from 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2014, a lot sooner than we normally would, plus it gives consumers a peek at the non-runway accessories that we can expect from the brands once full collections hit stores.

Lim’s accessory presale is the first to really give us pause this season. Not only is the brand new 3.1 Phillip Lim Wednesday Bag included in several different iterations, including the standout cracked leather version from the runway, but so are Ryder bags in new colors. The fan-favorite Pashli gets both a super-trendy holographic finish (for the mini version) and a super-trendy backpack shape, both of which sort of feel like Lim throwing a bone to the accessories fads of the moment. Check out the accessories from the sale below (it also includes shoes) or shop the full selection via Moda Operandi.

Want It Wednesday: Rachel Zoe, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Gucci and Chloe

Want It Wednesday Phillip Lim Chloe Rachel Zoe Gucci

How, you ask, do we have time to find new Fall 2013 things that we’re craving amid all the Spring 2014 Fashion Week fervor? Easy – we’re professionals. Professional thing-wanters, if nothing else. (Not a bad gig if you can get it.) This week for Want It Wednesday, we’ve managed to sit still long enough to find some stuff we’d like to put on our credit cards rightthisveryminute, and we’d also like to welcome back someone who you guys might remember as Intern Katherine – she’s a full-fledged, college-graduated human now, and a full-time member of the PurseBlog team!

If you’ve been following along with the collections at New York Fashion Week, you know that things going forward are looking a little more streamlined, a little modern. I, for one, am breathing a sigh of relief – this stuff is much more my speed, compared to the bling-and-brights look that fashion’s had going for the past few seasons. To incorporate that kind of slick, well-edited design into my wardrobe right this very minute, I’m lusting after the Rachel Zoe Faceted Bar Bracelet. The squared-off shape is just unexpected enough to draw a bit of attention, but the pared-down look epitomizes a simplified version of style that seems so appealing right now.

The second the chilly fall air arrives, you can bet I’ll be snuggling into plenty of oversized sweaters. With summer recently coming to an end, most New York City residents put away all their colorful clothes and go straight for their black winter attire, but not me. As a native Florida girl, I like to wear color for as long as it’s deemed acceptable. Searching for an appropriate colorful sweater for fall can be a bit of a struggle, but thanks to this 3.1 Phillip Lim Zim-Trimmed Techno Neoprene Sweatshirt, I’ve met my match. It’s bold, bright and can easily pair with a skinny black or printed pant. Now the question is, how can I make it mine? If you’re in the need for neoprene you can purchase this sweatshirt

There is something about a good wallet that really makes me a happy person. I mean, when you think about it, wallets might get even more use than some of your handbags. That’s why always keep my eye out for a new one. This week, I have my eye on the Chloe Aurore Wallet. The rose calfskin leather is simply gorgeous. Like any well-crafted wallet, when you open it, you’ll find a zipper pouch and plenty of storage. Plus, the signature padlock adds a unique touch. I’d be more than happy to swap out my current wallet for this one!

While we may be having summer-like weather here in NYC at the moment, I am yearning for the day when I can wear all of my fall apparel. That day may not be today, but I can dream, can’t I? And while I’m at it, I’ll also be dreaming about this Gucci Fur-Trimmed Wool & Silk Shawl. Fall is by far my favorite season because most fall styles exemplify effortless elegance. If we accessorize correctly, a pair of skinny jeans, boots, and an oversized top instantly look urbane. That’s why I am going gaga for this Gucci shawl. I will admit, sometimes oversized pieces are hard to pull off, especially on petite frames (I am only 4’11″), but because this is a layering piece, anyone can carry this look. Until the weather cooperates and my purse strings expand, I will just keep dreaming.

Check Out All the Bags from 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target

3.1-Phillip-Lim-x-Target-Handbags

Generally speaking, high-low designer collaborations have seen better days. They were all the rage for a while – Lanvin x H&M, anyone? – but at some point, they jumped the shark. I’m not sure whether that moment was the Missoni x Target online ordering fiasco or the Neiman Marcus x Target x Every Designer In America three-way flop, but it happened, and ever since then, our expectations have been low, if not nonexistent. 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target is here to restore some of our faith in high-low.

Most collaborations focus on clothing, which is easier to reasonably replicate for a fraction of the original price, but Lim went all-in on a capsule collection of inexpensive bags for both women and men as well. Some of the bags are faux-leather reinterpretations of Lim hits, most notably the Pashli, but there are also some new shapes, including an orange-and-purple leopard tote that’s the star of the accessories collection and a handsome blue camouflage backpack for men. Some fans will probably be mad at the Pashli spin-offs, but it’s exactly the type of bag that Target would imitate anyway, so Lim might as well get some of the credit (and revenue) for those cheaper versions.

Check out the entire bag collection for both men and women below; these pieces will reportedly retail for between $20 and $50 when the collection goes on sale at Target stores September 15.
